About Me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Moji.

When I was a kid, of all the books on my mother’s bookshelf, I always reached out for the cookbooks. My mum always tried to get me to read all sorts of exciting children’s novels, but time after time, she failed! The cookbooks were mine to devour. I guess at that point, I should have known I would be a big FOODIE.

I enjoy food and cooking but baking and desserts are definitely yards ahead. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all things baked! I used to make sponge cakes when I was much younger. Thinking back, I really wonder how my family members could have eaten them! The recipe was wrong, the mixing method was wrong, even the oven temperature was wrong!

I was able to make amends for all the pain and horrible cakes I put my family members through during my childhood experiments when I started my confectionery company a few years ago. The company Chocolatier’s Wonders (www.chocolatiers-wonders.blogspot.com), was doing very well until my husband “The Engineer” got transferred from Nigeria to Houston for work. Well, I packed all my things, closed shop and followed the love of my life.

I look forward to our time here in Houston. Back in the days, watching Funmi Adeoye (She was kind of Nigeria’s Nigella Lawson back in the 1980s/1990s), I always dreamt of presenting my own food show. Making all sorts of mouthwatering and exotic dishes and being gratified watching people close their eyes in orgasmic pleasure from the taste of my meal. While I wait for this dream to be realised, I have started this blog to share some exciting recipes,  some of the experiences I have gained baking over the years and just some random musings.

For my Nigerian people, I would try to have a ‘For My Nigerian People’ section for each post. I would give you tips on where to get ingredients, substitutes for some ingredients that may not be available or may be too expensive in Nigeria and just things I think would be helpful for you in executing the recipes.

If there are any specific dishes you would like recipes for, if you want me to review a product, if you would like specific tips about baking, if you just have a random question you think I might have an answer to, or if you have any tips, suggestions or ideas of how I can make this blog better suited to your needs, you can drop me a message  at foodie@mogeeathome.com
